Tell Me a Story

Day 4 - Tell Me a Story

Tell me a story, he said
My brain froze.
Tell me a story, he said;
Explain how it goes.

Just any story won't do,
But a story true,
One about you,
Something you knew
That changed your life.

All righty, then:

Glued and polished wood,
strings and levers,
Sounded by fingers
plucking never
could have thrilled my soul
as any story told.

Selah.

Day 3 - History

History

Building the story
is a worthy project
worked by bards and poets,
by artists and sculptors,
by saints and neurotic prophets.

Known history is only an outline,
the memories of the star-souls,
yet are all lives and moments
worthy to be remembered, by far,
because all Life matters.

So, where are the rest of the memories?
Who records?
They may not be here in stone, paper or bytes.
Yet none is lost - not a moment -
All is archived in the collective Akashic,
catalogued in the mind and heart of God.

So, when history dies,
no one will mourn it.

Open Mic at Selah

Many voices,
Ancient songs
of God and chile',
A new song
of peace and hope,
we sat awhile.

Sounds forged into words,
Words welded into thoughts,
Thoughts broadcasting ideas
to seekers poised to understand,
and all filtering the truths
to fit each bundled Life.

Truth, for a moment,
in the spotlight.

Fool's Day

Fool's Day

As the sun rises
a dewy breeze wafts,
awakening Life to choral reprises.

Today is a new day,
yet to be lived,
Telling its story, come what may.

Tethered, yet free,
I will rove over the earth,
a-wonder at every bird and tree.

And when comes its end,
Thanks shall I give,

And to each I have met, a prayer I will send.

Can you hear me now?

Who's Listening?

Who really listens to
Buddha or Jesus,
Lao Tzu or Krishna?

They did not tell you
to light candles and incense,
to kneel beaten with pain,
to curse the world
and hope for heaven,
to build grandiose houses
for a God who needs no house.

They teach one thing:
"Love one another,"
and all that entails.

Because Love is the core of Life,
and the practice of
compassion builds and respects,
and releases creative purpose,
and engenders peace.

The wonder of this universe
is the Song of God's creative purpose,
and I, too,am a song
in the cosmic symphony.

Since Love is Lord
of heaven and earth,

how can I keep from singing?

Wisdom

When we quit thinking primarily about ourselves and our own self-preservation, we undergo a truly heroic transformation of consciousness.

Worthy Contemplation

 Lk 6:36-38

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Stop judging and you will not be judged.
Stop condemning and you will not be condemned.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
Give and gifts will be given to you;
a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing,
will be poured into your lap.
For the measure with which you measure
will in return be measured out to you."

The Wine of Divine Grace

The wine of divine grace is limitless:
All limits come only from the faults of the cup.
Moonlight floods the whole sky from horizon to horizon;
How much it can fill your room depends on its windows.
Grant a great dignity, my friend, to the cup of your life;
Love has designed it to hold His eternal wine.

What's the Fuss?

"You say you have seen Him, but your eyes are two stones.
You say you have known Him, but nothing in you trembles.
You still say "I" when you speak of surviving His glory;
No one who has seen It has ever survived. "
- Jalal-ud-Din Rumi

Mmmmmm...
Oh, I agree.
Then why all the fuss?
It's the drama, you know,
The tension of life:
Bio/metaphysic Magnetism:
Attract,
Repel,
Or Die.

Be Attentive

It's a different world
with different tools.
Now campaign rallies
and bullied speeches?
What's missing is
that bitty mustache.
Fool me once....

Now a test for democracy,
How far the tether to let?
Be attentive.
Be attentive.
But keep the net handy.

Gender Identity

Gender Identity. ... Chemical (physical /hormonal) and Spiritual (Soul Energy).. and the third element which is not discussed is the element of reincarnation.... how many lives as male..... how many lives as female, or any combination on the male/female meter?
But we still CHOOSE a life as male or female .... for the experience. It is complicated, but not rocket science.
Of course, there are more complicated situations, and sexuality runs the gamut from the macho male to the feminine female. It is time to accept the facts - there is no NORMAL human life - we are all sepatated by degrees of gender intensity - controlled by hormones and soul memories which are not fully understood even by the best psychologists.
The most we can do is understand the complexity of human experience and respect the conundrum some individuals suffer through. We must also keep in mind the three elements mentioned above: Chemical, Spiritual, Metaphysical. And there is no "normal."

The Eternal Quest

What am I?
Who am I?
Where do I come from?
Where am I going?

A Star Trek alien
called humans: "bags of water" -
a conglomerate of molecules?
Then what animates?
Simple organic electricity?
Then who thinks?

With eyes to see,
the silver cord connects
to this "bag of water" - fluid
- or fluidity of being -
As above, so below -
I am more than this Allen,
or Paula, Chad, or Ophelia.

I evolve, morph,
transform -
matter matters, yes,
but Spirit fits the form.
I am more.

And next time
I will be different,
may be he, maybe she,
may be pink, black or brown,
handsomely beautiful or not,
planting rice
or teaching metaphysics,
but I will be "new" -
Spirit fits the form,
and I fulfill a purpose.

Are you a blazing star?

Contemplating the Light of God

There's an intellect like the sun's blazing disc—
And one inferior to Venus or a shooting star.
There's an intellect like a flickering lamp,
And one like a brilliant star of fire,
That when all clouds are pulled back from Its Face
Births eyes that contemplate the Light of God.

- Rumi
