The Dork

There was a young man from Cork
Who was a lazy kind of dork.
He loved his malaise,
Flitting away his days
Watching reruns of Mindy and Mork!

Cover Me!

Squared off prints
in cotton and chintz
a colorful cover
to put over
my chilly knees.

Carefully planned
by a great fan
of crafting
and stitching
of cloth and thread.

A quilt
carefully built
from an inspiration
with a destination
to a friend’s comfort.

For Life

He is Risen!
Gray skies,
wintry air
not the Eastery scene
we would like ---
churches closed
(synagogues, mosques
and temples, too),
a time to lay aside
the material coverings,
reach deeply
into our being
and meet with
the Source of All Being
and  listen,
and pay attention.
Though families are afar ---
we must still
have gratitude,
gratefulness
for the Life,
for the Life,
for Life.

Green Spring

The myriad greens
of Spring –
fresh, clean,
minty,
ocean foamy,
new ferny,
olivette,
cedarling,
tulip sage,
lowly sedum,
hardy grasses
and more,
and more,
and sooo much more!

Aging

Aging sucks,
For some…
no pains,
no banes.
For others…
a slow fading,
a sense dimmed,
a strength diminished,
a freedom lost.
Time becomes a swirl
of hours, days, weeks, months
carried along
til the corpus fails
ad I am freed
to return home,
and soar once again
into heaven’s gate.

Rains

Rain-washed morning
Storm-swept night
a calm breeze
greets the Great Star.

The above-water
floats by,
gray and white
and then --- Blue
Blue skies coming our way.
Starlight illuming my way.
What can I say?
It portends to be
a lovely Spring day.

Tick Tock

Tick Tick Tick
Tock Tock Tock
an invisible timer
on an invisible fob
invites each generation
to worship the
illusion of time.

There is no tick tick
tock in Nature.
Life is constantly, constantly,
constantly flowing,
arising,
growing,
doing,
dying,
arising again,
birthing,
becoming,
attracting,
repelling,
reproducing,
doing,
dying,
and birthing again,
constantly, constantly,
constantly flowing,
becoming,
an ecstatic, eternal Dance of Life
upon a river we like to call “Time”!
And all within
the Mind of God.
(I don’t care what you call Her.)

TuAp7

TuAp7

Green grows the grass
greeting the great star
this mild April morn.

No breeze hinders
the morning chorus –
the chirping redhats
the screeching bluejackets
the whistling chickadees
the trilling warblers ---
and suddenly
a gobbling turkey
hidden in a thicket
greets me –
“Good morn!”

Then, rudely interrupting
roars an iron beast
spewing  toxins,
pushing, gouging the earth
within the cedar grove ---
the sounds of groaning nature ---
splintering wood,
crushing branches,
the scent of cedar blood
and upturned earth
fills the air.
One day it might be
a welcome fragrance,
this cedar and dewy earth –
but today it is
the stench of death and an
audible, odorous genocide
of countless biomes.
For what? I wonder.

Reality Hacked!

https://medium.com/…/if-reality-is-a-computer-simulation-wh…

Ok - this is cool - one bottom line revelation is that when we do "new" things in our daily lives, it energizes and promotes more spontaneity and enjoyment of life in general. Think about how a vacation - change of scenery- makes you feel "renewed" - well - usually - if there is no trauma on the vacation! Every "new" direction we take in life redesigns our future toward a greater sense of fulfillment. Don't let :Life get stale for you - there's so much out there to get involved in - and interiorly, the landscape is infinite!

Giving Life

Rejoice not
in another’s death.
Harboring hatred
blasphemes God
who made us all and
every thing that is –
every thing that is.

Good and evil
are judgments learned,
and their contagion
casts away our forgotten bliss
and blurs a life of peace.
Cultures will always differ,
Gods’ names will change,
but the same river of Being
runs beneath all that is,
ever and always,
giving Life,
giving Life.

Rejoice in Life!
and …
when is Rome,
do as the Romans do.
(Adapt to your environs)

I say

a gray day
i can’t say
what it may
foresay.

so I just may
fritter away
a perfectly good day
or I may
run away
to Delaware bay
‘cause the cats
are playing with my feet.

Time

The pyramids were built
one block at a time.
A bracelet is fashioned
one bead at a time.
Bread is prepared
one ingredient at a time.
An almond cookie is consumed
one bite at a time.
A life is lived
one day at a time, mostly.
A day is spent
one hour at a time.
And an hour is counted
one minute at a time.
The minute divides into seconds,
but who is counting?

A second in Your Presence,
   my Beloved,
      is an eternity of Bliss.

Time is a concoction
of the imagination.
All that was
All that is
All that will be
exists Now
in every conceivable array,
right Ray?
Who can fathom this but God?
… and this God is in you.

Sela.

New Beginnings

Now begins
a new year
a new decade
a new cycle
a new attitude
a new vision
a new challenge
a new purpose

Now begins
new chaos
new order
new work
new responsibilities
new friends
new memories
no more pee pee pads
renewed gratefulness

Deo Gratias
for another day
Pace bene to all

Veni, veni, creator spiritus
-heal our hearts
-fill our minds with wisdom
-guide our hands to help
 and to heal.

Happy New Year!
